Bankruptcy Records

Search Court Cases for Bankruptcy Details

Matters of Insolvency are held in the High Court of New Zealand. In addition to registers and notices listings bankruptcies, you may also search court records. When searching court decisions online, if a keyword search is made available to you, try adding the word "insolvency" as one of your keywords to narrow down the results.

What is the difference Between Bankruptcy and Liquidation?

At a basic level, bankruptcy applies to individuals and liquidation applies to business. If you wish to find out if a company has gone into liquidation, or had a notice to wind up or liquidate placed against it, you can search Business and Company Records.

Whilst you may find an individual has not previously been declared bankrupt, performing due diligence on the status of companies they have been involved with can provide another avenue of investigation.
