By law, the Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority must maintain a register of all managers certificates and licences. You can obtain a copy of the Alcohol Licences & Certificates Registers by downloading them online.
There are two registers available. The registers are in XLSX format and can be opened with programs such as Excel.
A Managers Certificate Register shows all certificate holder’s names, expiry date, number, licensing committee and whether the certificate in new or has been renewed. Note that a person holding a managers certificate must be present at all times when alcohol is being sold, supplied or consumed at a licenced premises.
A second register contains all those licensed to sell alcohol. The register contains all active licences in New Zealand and provides a name, premises name, address, number, expiry date, as well as category and conditions.
