Births, Deaths & Marriages online provides a historical death search. It covers deaths that occurred at least 50 years ago and or the deceased’s date of birth was more than 80 years ago.

The search covers a range of registers dating back to 1848.The time period selected will determine the information that is made available to you. There are presently around 2.4 million death records, with approximately 2 million of those being historical.

A search is performed by entering either:

• Family Name
• Given Name(s)
• Search from date
• Search to date

or:

• Registration Number

A search will return all matching results and provides the full name, registration number, date of birth and age at death where available. A link to order a death certificate or a death printout from 1875 onwards is available. A printout is sent by email after 8 working days.

You may order a printout of the information on the death record. Historical records may be ordered without a verified RealMe account, whilst non historical records require one.
