Supreme Court decisions are available to the public in PDF format on the Courts of New Zealand website. These can be accessed under two sections: Supreme Court Decisions and Judgments of Public Interest.

The Supreme Court Decisions section contains all judicial rulings issued by the Supreme Court since 2004. Meanwhile, the Judgments of Public Interest section features selected decisions from the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court that hold significant legal or public importance. These judgments remain accessible for 90 days. Detailed criteria for publication are available on the Courts of New Zealand website.

It’s important to note that some court decisions cannot be made public due to legal restrictions, such as statutory prohibitions or judicial orders. Access to these documents is only permitted through a formal application to the Supreme Court.
