Search the Online Cenotaph for a New Zealand service person. The Online Cenotaph is a social sharing site where enthusiasts, researchers and families contribute to the records of those who served for New Zealand. It is supported by the Auckland War Memorial Museum and acts as a living memorial for those that were on active service during times of conflict.
The database is compiled using information from a range of sources. These include military and government records, newspapers, families and the broader community.
You may conduct a search using name or service number, wars and conflicts or keywords. A keyword search is also available along with place. Results that match display the family name, first names, photo where available, force, war and service #.
Each person listed has their own dedicated page with additional information. This may include last rank, also known as, civilian life, training and enlistment, embarkations, biographical information, death, memorials and roll of honour. The sources of information and documents are also provided.
